Product Description
FOCUS HF provides not only key nutrient building blocks such as biotin, methionine, lysine, chelated trace minerals (including zinc and copper), viable yeast culture and lecithin phospholipids . . .. . . it includes the legendary SOURCE micronutrients to make it all work!
Hooves are composed of living tissue that require a wide range of nutrients to grow strong, resilient and hard. A deficiency of any of these key nutrients may lead to weak, crumbly hoof walls that grow slowly and won?t hold horseshoe nails. FOCUS HF provides the horse with a unique broad spectrum of micronutrients from SOURCE. These nutrients include at least 60 minerals and trace elements in an organic, highly bioavailable form. In addition, seaweeds contain other natural bio-active compounds and co-factors which may be missing from your horse?s diet. These micronutrients are synergistic with all the other ingredients in FOCUS HF and will help to increase their effectiveness.

FOCUS HF provides 10 mg. of supplemental biotin per serving. This is many times more than is already synthesized naturally in the horse by intestinal microbes. [sic. 2007 Nutrient Requirements of Horses] Some research (funded by vitamin manufacturers) have suggested that very large quantities of a single vitamin (biotin), is beneficial to hoof quality. However, we feel that it should not be necessary to mega-dose an individual vitamin to foster a normal response. Indeed, our opinion is strengthened by the reports of so many horsemen who have supplemented biotin (15 to 40 mg. per day) without success. When they have changed to FOCUS HF, with its wealth of nutrients and micronutrients, they report the wonderfully healthy hooves, and skin and coat condition they?ve been seeking!
For more detailed information on the SOURCE micronutrients, see the article in ?Technical Papers? Additional Analytical Information
The only nutrient in SOURCE that needs evaluation when formulating a feed ration is iodine. (The levels of each of the other minerals and trace elements is so low that it will not imbalance any feed ration design).
SOURCE is a rich source of natural organic iodine. It is particularly useful for those who are seeking to increase iodine levels in a potentially deficient ration. But caution? even a good thing can be overdone. SOURCE should not be fed at higher than recommended dosage levels, and if you are supplementing with a number of different products, it would be wise to review iodine levels to assure you are not overdoing it.
A daily serving of FOCUS HF contains 9 mg. of naturally occurring organic iodine.
