Hand Feeding:
When hand feeding by bottle, Purina® Goat Kid Milk Replacer should be fed at 100-105°F. Use the following schedule as a guideline for feeding reconstituted milk replacer.
*Daily amounts should be split into 3-4 feedings at first, feeding no more than 1/2 pint per feeding. Feeding rates may be adjusted according to age and desired growth goals.
Always offer fresh, clean, low sodium (<50 PPM) water and high-quality dry feed on a free choice basis.
Free-Choice Feeding:
Mix fresh solution daily and provide ready access to a clean nipple feeder.
When starting kids on nipples, they will require assistance but will adapt readily and nurse independently within 1 9r 2 days. Purina® Goat Kid Mik Replacer solution should be kept cool (<60°F) to help keep it fresh and prevent overeating.
Important Notes for Newborn Management
Newborn kids should receive colostrum as soon after birth as possible (within 3-4 hours). Colostrum is the first milk from the mother following birth, providing nutrients that are essential to the newborn's health and growth.
If the mother's colostrum is of high quality but in short supply, feed a colostrum supplement in addition to maternal colostrum. If the mother's colostrum is not available or is not usable (dirty or contaminated), use a colostrum replacer. For animals that develop scours (diarrhea or need support during hot weather or other stress, use an electrolyte supplement.
Offer fresh water at all times.
IMPORTANT: Every animal is an individual. The amount fed may need to be adjusted to support optimal body condition and growth.
Consult your veterinarian or animal nutritionist if you have questions.
Storage: store dry powder in a tightly closed container in a cool, dry place
NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION
Wash hands after feeding/handling animals.
Wash feed/witter containers after use.
